“This is exactly what our learners needed to move forward with increased knowledge and confidence in their professional development journeys."

Nicole led two eye-opening fireside chat sessions for our professional development program. During these sessions, Nicole skillfully set the stage for transparent conversations about what Pluralistic Ignorance is and how it shows in our daily interactions. Through opening up about her experiences, Nicole empowered others to share their own stories and combat Pluralistic Ignorance when they encounter it in their lives. Participants in Nicole’s sessions walked away with a new understanding of a social phenomenon that almost all had experienced but didn’t have the language to describe. This fireside chat was exactly what our learners needed to move forward with increased knowledge and confidence in their professional development journeys.

“He never would have completed this course and moved on to the 8th grade without the aide of Nicole.”

My nephew was enrolled in cyber school, which ended up being very difficult for him. He was giving up doing assignments and was falling so far behind. He had no motivation to finish and was losing hope that he would be promoted to the 8th grade. At this point his was in need of a tutor and mentor and we enlisted the help of Nicole.

She was the perfect fit for him. He became more motivated and began to really feel like he was starting to accomplish his goals with his assignments. He started to become more confident. Nicole is very skilled at what she does, and she has a lot of patience: when he got an answer incorrect, she never said “that’s wrong”, she would instead say “let’s try this a different way”.

He never would have completed this course and moved on to the 8th grade without the aide of Nicole. I highly recommend her and will contact her again if her help is needed. I hope if anyone is in need of similar services, they will enlist the aide of Nicole Owuor!

“Everyday life is filled many decisions. That initial phone call to Nicole may be the best decision you will have made in a very long time.”

It is with a great deal of enthusiasm and confidence that I write this testimonial on behalf of Nicole Owuor and her Experience Strategist company.

I first met Nicole when she and I were both presenters in a meaningful day of TEDx talks sponsored by Temple University. It was only a matter of a few rehearsals that I realized Nicole was someone special….special in her intellectual abilities….special in her diligence and dedication….and most importantly, special in her insights and compassion for people. It was no surprise that I later learned she had opened a business to help serve the ongoing transitional needs of teenage youth.

My own background is earmarked by decades of helping youth as well. As a former teacher, principal and school district superintendent, and currently serving as a family therapist, I have worked with thousands of families and children over the past forty five years. From this lifelong dedication to children, I believe I have learned what children need and feel as though I can recognize people who have those special qualities to support children in the face of their needs.

As a result, I knew very quickly that Nicole is such a person. Her intelligence, commitment, and compassion make her an excellent person to serve children and teenagers at a number of different levels. As an example, in recent weeks, I had been working with a thirteen year old male who has been struggling emotionally at home and struggling academically with his school responsibilities. He clearly needed someone who could relate to him, nurture him, and tutor him in a caring and supportive manor. I immediately turned to Nicole.

On the strength of one phone conversation, Nicole dove right in and eagerly began working with this young man on a weekly basis throughout the summer. Their connected relationship grew very quickly and Nicole became a game changer for this young man inside of a month. He responded well to her, trusted her, and he learned to face and conquer the adversity he was battling. I simply do not know many people who could make such a positive difference so quickly and so effectively.

As I reflected on Nicole’s qualities, and studied her vision and objectives for her company, I was convinced the services she can and would supply will do the same things for other youth that I witnessed first hand in her work with my client.

Working with teens can be very rewarding, but in many cases, it can also be very trying. If you have your own children in need of emotional and academic support, or work with a population of kids and families who sometimes demonstrate a need for extra support and help, I encourage you to contact Nicole directly and discuss with her what she can do for you. Most importantly, she is equipped to help youth through some of their more daunting transitional periods.

Everyday life is filled many decisions. That initial phone call to Nicole may be the best decision you will have made in a very long time.

“I was selected to attend the Harvard Conference that Nicole helped me to apply for, and solidified my career plans.“

I first met Nicole when she spoke to our class at Temple University about a research conference at Harvard University that she had attended. Although we are only a year apart in our education, she spoke to us like a mentor and I quickly felt comfortable enough to approach her after her presentation.

She was the first I told that I was at a crossroads in my career plans and was confused about what step to take next. She told me that I should view my Senior Year as a “year of discernment” and not a “year of pressure”, and that I should only take in what would push me towards my goals; anything that was deterring me from my goals, such as negativity from advisers or peers, or the inevitable comparisons in my head to other people, I should learn to let go because they will only hold me back and never push me forward.

She’s told me “those feelings are TOTALLY valid, and we’ve all been there. But ask yourself how that kind of thinking has improved YOUR chances. You want to go to medical school, you’re willing to dedicate the time, you believe you have your own contributions to make, and that’s what matters. Everyone has their doubts.”

A year later, I was selected to attend the Harvard Conference that Nicole helped me to apply for, and solidified my career plans. I have continuously reached out to Nicole for guidance when I face issues in my classes or in research, and she’s always reminded me of my intentions in my career and motivated me to keep pushing forward.

Overall, Nicole is a warm and kind human being, incredibly eloquent, mature, and definitely someone you want to have in your life to inspire you to get where you want to go.

“Nicole's meaningful content on race has served as a space for learning and action planning and she has empowered me to grow as an active advocate against racial injustice.”

The events surrounding racial unrest in 2020 highlighted the inequities and unjust treatment of individuals soley based on raced, and made many White people reflect on how their own prejudices or unconscious biases were perpetuating a society of institutional racism. Along with many other Americans, I asked myself how I could be a better ally and active advocate against racial injustice and how I could support people of color around me. The hurdle for many White people who want to be an ally and help dismantle racism, is not knowing exactly where to start. Personally, I know that when I entered the conversation, I was worried about saying the wrong thing, I was worried about potentially offending people that I cared about. I know a lot of people who expressed fear about discussing race because they didn’t want to make a mistake, and that is a huge part of why these conversations aren’t happening.

Talking about racism can be difficult for many people, but Nicole has created a safe space for those entering Allyship at any level to do just that. Her engaging and thought-provoking content and dialogue create an inclusive and welcoming environment to tackle many topics ranging from recognizing and unpacking implicit bias, navigating interracial relationships, or understanding and learning about many unique Black experiences. Her genuine demeanor and authentic approach to these conversations make it easy to work to educate yourself. She has helped me be cognizant and informed about key differences in my own life, increased by understanding and expanded my empathy.

Creating purposeful and intentional dialogue on race helps us all to be better equipped in fighting injustices and Nicole does this in a welcoming and easily digestible way. Nicole’s live discussions which she hosts on Instagram have become a Saturday night ritual in our home! They have challenged me to think critically about preconceived notions and helped me work to deconstruct them. Her meaningful content on race has served as a space for learning and action planning and she has empowered me to grow as an active advocate against racial injustice. I strongly believe that her work in is making meaningful impact towards change and equality in our collective future.
